Cissing Definition
Cissing is the appearance of bare spots, pin holes, craters, or running streaks in a painting work as a result of poor or improper adhesion of the paint to the painting surface. This is caused generally due to poor wetting of the surface. For example, in a varnished surface, the wet film (if any) may gather into streaks or drops thus covering the area improperly and causing cissing.
