Coptic Art Definition
The term Coptic art refers to the art works that were done by the Coptic Christians of Egypt during the end of the Roman period and during the commencement of the Byzantine period. Coptic art stood reputed for wall-paintings, textiles, illuminated manuscripts, and metalwork that exhibited in churches and monasteries. Coptic artwork was regarded as functional as a minor distinction was laid down between artistry and craftsmanship which comprised of tunics and tombstones.
