Cryptic means something which is mysterious or hidden. The word cryptic originated form the Greek word "kryptein" which means to hide. From this, the word “kryptos” was derived which means hidden which later evolved into “crypticus” which was the Latin term for cryptic. Cryptoic has the same meaning as that of the word crypt. It also means something which is obscure or mystifying.
