Door Stops Definition
Doorstop is a heavy object, usually attached to a door frame to prevent slamming of doors or to hold the door in a particular position. The earliest doorstops emerged in Europe during the 17th century. They were made in different forms and designs like human, animals, flowers etc. Doorstops are made with heavy objects like rubber, wood etc. Most of the doorstops sold today are of cast iron that were made from the age of 1890 to 1930. Some doorstops of the 20th century are three dimensional in nature and more decorative items were collected during those ages.
