Emphasis is an artistic principle where the artist gives dominance to a part of the work. This part of the work becomes the focal point and draws the viewer's attention. Emphasis is shown by giving a special stress to a part of the work to make it stand out from the remaining parts of the work. This is usually done by means of placement, contrast, and anomaly for the purpose of aesthetic impact.
