The word idiom is derived from the Latin word “idioma” which means a special property or a special feature. Idiom also refers to a phrase that has literal meaning but different figurative meaning. The figurative meaning of an idiom does not exactly match with its literal meaning.  There are thousands of idiomatic expressions that is been used in English language to refer to certain situations.
