Kate Greenaway or Catherine Greenaway (1846-1901) is a famous illustrator of children's books. Her pictures depicted children in high-waisted Empire dresses. Her designs were so popular that a style of dresses where named after her. Her designs appeared on glass, china and other show pieces.
