Kunstkabinette is a German word, meaning “cabinet of curiosities.”  Another word, Kunstkammer means “chamber of curiosities.” As the names suggest, a cabinet or trunk with items that fascinate a collector and gives pleasure is referred as Kunstkabinette. The objects of display may be marvels of nature, art objects. It was much like early stages of museum. The plural of "Kunstkammer" is "Kunstkammern."
