An ogive is a term used to describe conical shape end of a two or three dimensional object. Orgival or pointed arch was one of the main features of a Gothic architecture. Two arches of an ellipse when intersects at a point, forms a pointed arch and thereby it establishes the surface of a Gothic vault.
