Polyvinyl Acetate Definition
Polyvinyl acetate is a polymerised form of vinyl acetate. It is synthetic resin used in adhesives and paints. It is a kind of thermoplastic and is commonly referred as glue and belongs to the family of esters. It is a colourless and odourless resin which is soluble in water and is non-toxic. Polyvinyl acetate is also used as an intermediate while synthesising polyvinyl acetal and polyvinyl alcohol.
