Quill Definition
In drawing and calligraphy, Quill refers to a pen made from a goose's feather. The term Quill is also referred to the sharp spikey defenses of porcupine. Quill from porcupines have been used by people in several ways. Native Americans use the quills of porcupines as an aesthetic element in traditionally practiced Quillwork which is a form of textile ornamentation. Quills from bird feathers were also at times used in quillwork.
