Tertiary Colors Definition
On the color wheel, the tertiary colors are found between primary and secondary colors. The Tertiary colors are created by mixing two primary colors in unequal amounts. Another name for tertiary color is intermediate color. Some of the tertiary colors are red-orange, blue-violet, blue-green, green-yellow, etc. Thus, the combination of all colors except violet-red that are at the extremes of the visible spectrum can be intermediate colors.
