Dayglo Colors Definition

The term Dayglo Colors refer to a kind of pigments and other products that display fluorescence in daylight. Dayglo Colors were first developed in the 1930s. Day-glo colors are mainly bright, clean materials which is much brighter than traditional colors. They are also called fluorescent colors and neon colors.  Day-glo colors were first used in magic shows, movie promotion posters and stage shows. Day-glo colors contain certain dyes and resins which makes it brighter and gives the distinctive effect of "glowing" under ultraviolet or black light. Day-glo colors are extremely bright under different conditions like indoor lighting, low light outdoors, and in limited visibility areas. Studies conducted on Dayglo Colors have shown that these colors are noticed first and get the attention of the observer. Therefore, they are commonly used to get attention or to focus attention on an object, to warn people of a possibly dangerous situation, get an object, person or situation noticed, etc. Dayglo Colors are widely used for traffic signals, fishing lures, tennis balls, etc. Further, they are extensively used in wide range of media, which includes oil and acrylic paints, inks, dyes, markers, crayons, etc.
