Batik is the technique of decorating cloth with hot wax and dye. The technique can be found in several countries, although Indonesian batik may be the most well-known. The process involves either drawing or printing dye resistant wax onto a piece of cloth, dying the cloth, and then removing the wax. The wax will prevent areas from coloring, and leave a permanent design on the cloth.
