Blocking in is the first stage of painting after the initial drawing. This is done by artists by putting down flat color, indication by line, tone etc. In the initial stage of painting it is a method of simplifying the elements of the painting by using forms or shapes. The painting is organized by block-in and the artist gets for guideline through bock-in. The painting is developed by the artists after blocking-in by processing the shapes, colors, texture, etc.
