Blue Pencil Definition
The term, Blue Pencil refers to a pencil which has a certain pale blue tone traditionally used to make edits or corrections of the contents of a book, writing, art work or other work. In the context of art, the Blue pencil is used to mark artwork and photographs as it will not show on certain photographic films not sensitive to blue. Such films which are insensitive to Blue Pencil are used in preparations for some printing processes. The Blue Pencil also means censor or make edits in a manuscript, film, or other work.
