Blue Onion Definition
The term Blue onion refers to a pattern or decoration used on tableware. The Blue Onion pattern was originally used in Meissen porcelain or Meissen china which is the first European hard-paste porcelain in the eighteenth century. It was designed by Horoldt in 1739 and has been produced for nearly three centuries. It was later duplicated and is associated with several other potteries. The "onion" example was initially named as "globule" design.
