Dry brush is a painting technique that uses a paint brush loaded with minimal amount of paint to do the painting. The brush used for painting is comparatively dry and produces a broken or scratchy effect. Both water base and oil based paints may be used in such paintings. Dry brush strokes produce typical rough look and create an area of busted colour.
