Hypostyle Hall is a large building or interior space whose roof is supported by a column of pillars. In the literal sense, the term Hypostyle Hall means under pillars. Most temples in ancient Egypt had hypostyle halls. Hypostyle halls are rarely followed in the recent architecture due to more effective means of roof support.
