Native American Art Definition
Native American Art refers to the visual art created by the aboriginal inhabitants of the Americas who were commonly known as American Indians. A major part of the art work was regarded as a symbol in the form of a bear, walrus, eagle, or people. The materials used to create artwork by Native Americans varied from rocks, feathers, cloth, clay, and fabric. Beyond that, basket weaving and blanket weaving were two popular art practices of Native Americans. Native American Art is also referred to as American Indian Art or Indian Art.
