Nirvana Definition
The term Nirvana literally means ‘blown out’ or extinguished. The term Nirvana is used in Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism. In the context of Buddhism, the term ‘nirvana’ refers to a stage in which a person’s mind has attained peace by achieving an extinction of delusion, hatred, and individual passion. In the context of Hinduism, the term ‘nirvana’ refers to a stage in which a person’s mind has achieved salvation by having a union with Brahman, the divine ground of existence and amounts to a blissful experience.
