Polychrome Definition
Polychrome describes an artwork which symbolises the usage of bright and varied colours to decorate architectural sculptures and objects. This mainly focuses on usage of multiple colours in different styles. But the objects so decorated will be painted only on its essential parts of the sculpture like hair, clothing or ornaments and rest of the body of the object will be kept intact with its natural colour. This kind of painting was commonly used during the Bronze Age in ancient Greek figurines.
