Preschematic Stage Definition
The pre-schematic stage is the term used to refer to the development stage of children with regard to their drawing and painting skills. Children start to exhibit their skill in drawing by scribbling human figures and this stage of children may be regarded as the scribbling stage. This is followed by the pre-schematic stage where the children will be able to produce figures, shapes and images of objects. In this stage children tend to rotate the papers to get the drawing done. This stage is considered pre-schematic because, children of this stage may be able to draw symbols but might not have developed schema. This stage is followed by early schematic stage and late schematic stage.
