Press Molding Definition
Press molding is a process of compressing a layer of clay into a mold of plaster either by hand or with tool for producing a ceramic ware. This process is associated with the application of both heat and pressure. In this method, the molding material is to be heated initially and must be placed into an open mold cavity and is closed tightly so that the pressure allows the material to reach all areas of the mold. While doing this process heat and pressure must be maintained to obtain a consistency until the ceramic ware has obtained its shape.
