Cinerary Urn Definition
Cinerary Urn refers to an urn used to hold ashes of a person, whose body might have been incinerated. The cinerary urns of Etruscans, later followed by Greeks and Romans had a reclining effigy of the deceased upon the lid. The Etruscan cinerary urns had hand painted terracotta figures. The urns had multi part molds, each hand detailed.
