The term Core pin refers to an object which links a core placed in a wax model with the adjoining mold. Generally, molds vary in size ranging from the size of a thin wire to the size of a thick metal. A core pin prevents the core from shifting when the wax is melted from the mold. Core pin is used in lost wax casting.
