G Argy Rousseau Definition
G. Argy-Rousseau pseudonym of Joseph-Gabriel Rousseau (1885-1953) is a French glass artist. He made Art Deco style and these objects were etched with "G. Argy-Rousseau". He included "Agry" to his name in honor of his wife, Marianne Argyriades, a Greek descendent. She sparked his interest in Greek and Classical art. As a partnership, from 1921-1931, he made pate-de-verre and other glass objects. Later, he had his own studio and created enameled glass works.
