India Ink Definition
India Ink or Indian Ink refers to black ink that was traditionally used for printing and writing. It is seen used by artists in inking comic strips and comic books. It is made from different kinds of fine soot known as lampblack. The liquid form is made by mixing lampblack with water. It gets a solid form when mixed with binding agents and is also moulded into cakes or sticks. Usually, the solid form of this ink is termed as Chinese ink, Japanese Ink, or Sumi Ink.
