The term Purple refers to a color which is usually a mixture of red and violet hues. Purple is the single color on a conventional twelve-colored color wheel which is not natural to the visible spectrum. The term also refers to a crimson dye got from some mollusks, which was earlier used for fabric worn by an emperor in ancient Rome.
