Puppetry Definition

The term Puppetry refers to a form of theatre which involves the art of making or operating puppets. In Puppetry, a small representational figure of a person or animal, usually either one with a cloth body and hollow head that fits over, is manipulated by the hand. A traditional type of Japanese puppet is Bunraku. Modern puppets are sometimes controlled by electronic devices which are either human operated or computer operated by a cable or remote control. Any type of doll may serve as a puppet with the use of sufficient imagination.
