Pencil Definition
Pencil is a writing device which looks like a rod which is thin and narrow usually with a circular base. This rod consists of lead which is made from graphite, charcoal or coloured wax and has a metallic lustre. The presence of lead enables it to produce a grey colour which can use for writing purposes. This rod can also be sharpened to pointed nib that helps in improving its legibility while writing. The lead rod is then inserted into a protective solid case usually made of wood which gives it hardness and prevents from breakage.
